Thomas L. White, Jr.
Chairman - Alliance Management
Thomas L. White, Jr., a graduate of the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill, is a Principal and the Chairman of Alliance Management, which manages over 4,000 apartments in North and South Carolina. In addition to his duties with Alliance Management, he is a partner in Alliance Commercial Investments, Alliance Commercial Property Management, Alliance Commercial Properties and Alliance Capital Partners. He is also a partner in State Street Maintenance and Construction Company, Whitewood Construction, as well as Certus Partners. He is a former Director, Shareholder and President of State Street Properties and has over 30 years experience in the multi-family housing industry. He has served as President of the Triad Apartment Association, as well as served on the Board of Directors of the Apartment Association of North Carolina. In August of 1996, he sold his interest in State Street and affiliated companies and has since become a major investor in every property currently managed by Alliance Management.

James A. Black, Jr.
Executive Vice President - Alliance Commercial Properties
James A. Black, Jr., a graduate of the University of Georgia, is a Principal of President of Alliance Commercial Investments, Alliance Commercial Property Management, and the Executive Vice President of Alliance Commercial Properties. Before forming Alliance Commercial Properties, Mr. Black was Senior Vice President of Cousin Properties Inc. with overall responsibility for its North Carolina operation from 1985 until 1993. From 1993 to 2004, Mr. Black was a Principal of Weaver, Grubar, Tyler & Black.
Mr. Black has been affiliated with the Piedmont Triad Development Group (President and Treasurer), The Urban Land Institute and NAIOP. Mr. Black is currently a member of the Tenant In Common Association (TICA) and the Retail Brokers Network.
Mr. Black has served as Director and Chairman of the Board of Downtown Greensboro Incorporated where he was the founder. Mr. Black served as a director of the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce, Greensboro Development Corporation, Greensboro Center City Corporation, United Arts Council of Greensboro (Director, Chairman Elect (1997) and Chairman (1998)), Bryan Park Commission and Bryan School of Business (University of North Carolina – Greensboro). Mr. Black was a member of the Leadership Greensboro Class of 1989. In 2007, Mr. Black was the recipient of the J Edward Kitchen Leadership Award which is awarded jointly by the City of Greensboro and Downtown Greensboro Incorporated.

Robin Tyler
President - Alliance Commercial Properties
Robin Tyler, a graduate of Guilford College, is President of Alliance Commercial Properties, Vice President of Alliance Commercial Investments and Vice President of Alliance Commercial Property Management. Prior to the formation of Alliance Commercial Properties, Mr. Tyler was Principal of Weaver Grubar Tyler and Black, Senior Vice President of CB Richard Ellis, Owner of Property Resources and Management Broker of Brown Investment Properties.
Mr. Tyler has been an active leader as a commercial property broker/developer for over 25 years specializing in office, industrial and investment properties. Mr. Tyler has also developed office condominiums and twenty-three Qdoba Mexican Grill restaurants.
Mr. Tyler’s professional affiliations include local Board of Directors of Premier Bank, local Advisory Board of Centura Bank. His civic involvement includes Rotary Club of Greensboro where he was awarded the 1999 “Rotarian of the Year”, Board of Directors of Family & Children Service of the Piedmont, Greater Greensboro Board of Realtors, Boy Scouts-Old North State Council and Greensboro Sports Council.

Rick L. Hopkins
President - Alliance Management
Rick L. Hopkins, is a Principal and the President of Alliance Management and investor in all properties managed by Alliance. Mr. Hopkins is a graduate of the State University of New York. He is a Certified Property Manager, Certified Apartment Property Supervisor, certified in Federal Housing Administration multi-family housing requirements and a NC and SC Broker. In addition to his duties with Alliance Management, he is a partner in Alliance Commercial Investments, Alliance Commercial Property Management, Alliance Commercial Properties and Alliance Capital Partners. He is also a partner in State Street Maintenance and Construction Company, Whitewood Construction Company. He has served as President of the Triad Apartment Association, as well as served on the Board of Directors of the Apartment Association of North Carolina. Prior to the start up of the Alliance Management, Mr. Hopkins was the Executive Vice President/Asset Manager for State Street Properties. In this role he was responsible for overseeing the management of multi-family properties owned and managed by the company. The company’s multi-family housing portfolio was in excess of 6,000 units.

Larry L. Gatewood
Principal - Whitewood Construction
Larry L. Gatewood, is President and a Principal of Whitewood Construction, as well as State Street Maintenance and Construction. Mr. Gatewood has over 40 years of experience in the multi-family construction business. Mr. Gatewood is a licensed General Contractor (qualifier for Whitewood Construction and State Street Maintenance and Construction) and currently oversees all new multi-family construction for Whitewood. His State Street Maintenance and Construction staff are currently responsible for lawn and grounds maintenance for over 4,000 units. In addition, he serves in various oversight functions for property renovations.

Brantley E. White
Executive Vice President - Alliance Management
Brantley E. White, a graduate of the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill, is a Principal of Whitewood Construction and Certus Partners, as well as the Executive Vice President of Alliance Management. He is a Certified Property Manager and a licensed real estate broker in the state of North Carolina. Mr. White is also a licensed General Contractor (qualifier for Whitewood Construction). He has served on the Board of Directors of the Triad Apartment Association, as well as the Board of Directors of the local chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM). Mr. White is responsible for overseeing and analyzing potential acquisitions and sales of multi-family properties for the group. He handles many of the related financing activities for properties operated by Alliance Management. Mr. White leads Certus Partners in its pursuit of multi-family development opportunities and works closely with Mr. Gatewood in the management of the construction process. Prior to working at Alliance Management, Mr. White was employed by Worthing Southeast Builders, where he estimated job costs associated with various large scale multi-family projects, including both upscale condominiums and apartments.

Regional Property Manager - Alliance Management
Thomas L. White, III, a graduate of the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill, is a Principal of Whitewood Construction and Certus Partners, as well as the as the Regional Property Manager for Alliance Management, Inc. Mr. White is a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) and is an active member of the Triad Apartment Association. He oversees the management of nearly 1500 multi-family rental units throughout the Carolinas. His responsibilities include personnel decisions, occupancy maximization, annual budgets and vendor contract negotiations. Prior to working for Alliance Management, Mr. White was a regional property manager for Alliance Commercial Property Management. His role included running the day to day operations of 13 grocery anchored shopping centers throughout the southeast.
